Go FISH to Resume on Thursday, November 20,

from 1:00pm-2:00pm

Go FISH (Fun Interactive Scientific and Hands-on) is a FREE program, included with paid admission, at the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame & Museum.  This program is offered through IGFA’s Education Department and incorporates stories of the aquatic environment plus arts and crafts! Each month a story is read to guests followed by an arts and crafts activity which is then brought home at the end of your visit!  Before or after the hour long event, participants are encouraged to roam through our museum, catch ‘the big one’ on one of our 5 fishing simulators, walk on the wild side through our wetlands, and/or see Journeys, our resident movie here at IGFA.

This month's book will be: The Girl Who Swam with the Fish, retold by Michelle Renner and Illustrated by Christine Cox.

The activity following the book will be: Gyotaku--an ancient form of Japanese fish printing using fish molds and paint. Each child will be able to take home his or her fish print to display proudly at home!

***The next date for Go FISH will be Thursday, December 18th from 1:00pm-2:00pm***

The December book will be: About Fish: A Guide for Children by Cathryn Sill, illustrated by John Sill

Following the reading, participants will enjoy making Hanging Fish: a beautiful fish to hang in your room!
