Field
Trips
The
IGFA at the International Fishing Hall of Fame offers fun and educational
field trips to schools. Your group is admitted into the museum at a discounted
price and if your teacher has been to a Teacher
Workshop and is IGFA Certified,
you get an even bigger discount! Educational
Programs for school groups are available and will be discussed individually.
Through hands-on displays and games throughout the museum, guests will
be educated on the importance of conservation through sport fishing and
biology.
Planning Your Field Trip
Before contacting IGFA, have a couple of field trip dates in mind. Know
approximately how many children and chaperones will be attending and if
you are going to partake in an Educational
Program or Self-Guided
Tour. If your classes are going to enjoy the one-hour lab programs,
keep in mind IGFA can only have 30 children per lab and a maximum of four
labs per day. A 1:10 chaperone to student ratio is required, a 1:5 ratio
is allowed; these chaperones are free. When you contact IGFA, a staff
member will review the calendar and help you reserve a date.
